چکیده

To optimize and enhance the value of a previously developed supercritical fluids (SF) process for removing oil from soybean flakes, we devised a two-step, sequential scheme for extraction of oil and phospholipidcontaining fractions using SC-C02 alone or with ethanol. PLs were selectively removed from the flakes using the SC-C02/ethanol mixture. Phosphatidylcholine (PC) and phosphatidylethanolamine (PE) were more readily solubilized in the SC-CO/cosolvent mixtures than were phosphatidylinositol and phosphatidic acid. The extent of recovery of PC and PE was a function of the molar fraction of cosolvent. Some fractionation of constituent phospholipids could be achieved by varying the molar fraction of ethanol. The extracts from the SF process were characterized by inductively coupled plasma spectroscopy (ICP) and HPLC with evaporative light scattering detection.

Supercritical Fluid Extraction of Pyrrolidine Alkaloid from Leaves of Piper amalago L.

Supercritical fluid extraction was used to extract the alkaloid N-[7-(3',4'-methylenedioxyphenyl)-2(Z),4(Z)-heptadienoyl]pyrrolidine from leaves of Piper amalago L. A three-level orthogonal array design matrix, OAD OA9(34), was used for optimization of the parameters of supercritical extraction of the alkaloid, employing supercritical carbon dioxide: extraction time (20, 40, and 60 min), temper...

Background and Objectives: Supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) technique has been studied for extraction of bioactive compounds from Feijoa sellowiana leaves. Results were compared with those obtained from conventional ethanolic extraction (CE). Materials and Methods: Results: The best supercritical carbon dioxide (SC-CO2) extraction conditions was determined as 250 bar of pressure, 50 &deg...

Paprika (Capsicum annuum) oleoresin extraction with supercritical carbon dioxide.

Paprika oleoresin was fractionated by extraction with supercritical carbon dioxide (SCF-CO(2)). Higher extraction volumes, increasing extraction pressures, and similarly, the use of cosolvents such as 1% ethanol or acetone resulted in higher pigment yields. Within the 2000-7000 psi range, total oleoresin yield always approached 100%. Pigments isolated at lower pressures consisted almost exclusi...

The Use of Taguchi Method to Determine Factors affecting the size of fine attapulgite particles generated by Rapid Expansion of Supercritical Solution with and without cosolvents

The rapid expansion of a supercritical solution (RESS) process is a promising method for the production of small, uniform and solvent-free particles of solutes. The RESS containing a non-volatile solute leads to loss of solvent power by the fast expansion of the supercritical solution through an adequate nozzle, which can cause solute precipitation. The nozzle configuration plays an important r...
